As long as we are drawing breath, we’re in what we’ll call the “Game of Life”. There are two Kingdoms and two owners. One team is playing for “abundant life” and the other one strives to “rob, kill and destroy”. (John 10:10)
Almighty God owns the first team and Satan owns the second one.
There was a time when everyone played for Satan. But the Lord thought that there were men and women who might be tired of playing for their old team, so He sent His Son Jesus, the Christ, to earth on a recruiting trip. The contract price, which the owner’s Son paid, was outrageously expensive but God felt like building a team that wore His Kingdom uniform and played for His Kingdom Glory was worth it. (John 3:16)
Both teams are engaged in a lifelong contest. And it is truly a “Game of Life and Death”.
Here’s the problem. The players on God’s team think that just because they wear the uniform, they are doing what the owner wants them to do. But sadly, they are either moving toward the wrong goal or seated in the stands watching the action. (Luke 9:23)
The Holy Spirit is the coach and spends most of His time telling those who are wearing the blood red uniforms of God’s Kingdom to “Get in the Game”! The fact is, we are all in the game whether we acknowledge it or not. There are really only two issues. Whose team are we on? And toward which goal are we headed. (John 16:5-15)
If you are on God’s team, it’s not enough just to wear the uniform and wait for the final gun to sound. There are many on the opposing team who need to be recruited just as you were. Don’t just wear the uniform. “Get in the game!” (Mark 16:15-16)
